Hall Repairs

Repairs to our Scout Hall have commenced in the first week in August with the doors, wall and window sections being demolished and rebuilt and are expected to be completed by the end of the month. It is planned that the hall will be back in use by September for the beginning of the new scouting year. Some photos of progress are included below.

Updated Constitution

The Group Council at its meeting on 13th May 2026, resolved to adopt a new Constitution for the Scout Group. This is the governing document for how our group is run and is provided in a prescribed format by Scouting Ireland. It replaces the existing constitution in place since 2017.

A copy of the new Constitution and current Group Charter which governs the relationship between our group and Scouting Ireland have been uploads toa new Governance section of our website.

A number of polices were also discussed and approved. This work is part of our Groups preparation to register as a charity.

Notice of AGM 2025

Our AGM will take place on Thursday 11th September from 7.30pm to 8.30pm in the Scout Hall.

Our AGM is open to all Parents and Leaders and you attendance is greatly appreciated.

As well as routine reports and the accounts for 2024/25 this year’s AGM will focus on:

  • Current Demand for Scouting
  • Reopening of the Scout Programme Section
  • Leader required to support our Programme Sections
  • Adult Assistance (non leader) Required.

We are conscious that as a voluntary organisation we depend on support from parents and other adults in the community to provide a programme for our youth members. This does mean that parents need to provide some level of support, be it as a leader on a regular or occasional basis, or to help with the administration of the groups or maintaining our hall and looking after equipment.

Scout Section – September 2025

The Group has not operated a scout section (Ages 12 to 15) for a number of years. This is the section that provides the most scope for personal development as well as a wider range of activities and greater youth involvement.

It is planned to reopen our scout section for 2025/26, subject to confirming available leaders.

The initial cohort of scouts, will be restricted to those moving from cubs this year and meeting nights have been set for Thursdays 7pm to 8.30pm.

Cubs – September 2025

The Cub are planning to recommenced on Tuesday 9th September 2025 at 7pm until 8.30pm in the Scout Hall.

The Section is open to new members.

Beavers – September 2025

The Beaver Section are provisionally scheduled to recommence on Monday 15th September from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at the Scout Hall.

This is subject to confirmation.

Due to the limited number of Beaver moving to Cubs, there is very limited availability for the current year for new members.
