Cub Challenge Day Postponed

The cub county challenge day, scheduled for this Sunday 19th October has been postponed due to the fact that a yellow weather alert is in force until Sunday evening from Met Eireann.  Details of the rescheduled date are to be advised.

Web & Email Interruption

Beaver Section Reopening

We now have two new Beaver leaders and support of two venture Scouts to re-open the section.  The section will reopen on Monday 22nd September at the new time of 6.30pm to 7.30pm.  New members will be accepted on the night.  Many thanks to all those attended the parents meeting on 11th September and all those who volunteered to help on  Monday evenings and at weekends.

Beaver Scouts 2014/15

A short meeting for all parents of children interested in joining Beaver Scouts for 2014/15 will be held in the Scout Hall in Ballinlough on Thursday 11th September 2014 from 8pm until 9pm.

Airport Visit

As part of our air activities badge, the cub scouts visited Cork Airport on 28th January. We were met by the Airport Fire & Security service and given a presentation on what they do and how the airport works.  We saw different planes landing and taking off and identified the parts of a plane.  We were given a tour of the fire station and all the equipment.  It was a great tour all cubs were presented with a certificate and their Stage1 Air activities badge, having completed all the requirements

Mystery Night Hike

We will be meeting outside the entrance to Penrose Wharf Car Park on Alfred Street in town at 7pm sharp. Cubs & Scouts should wear their uniform, neckerchief and bring a warm jacket, hat & gloves and €5 to cover costs.  We can be collect at 9.15pm at the Car Park by Monkstown Pier.

Cubs please note there is no meeting on Tuesday 26th.
