Hey Jinks is a fun day in Farran Woods for Cubs and Guides held on Saturday 2nd April 2016. We will be attending the event which involves a circular route around the woods stopping at different activity bases.

We will be meeting in Farran Woods car park at 11am and will be finished again by 3pm.

Cub should wear old clothes, as they will likely get wet and muddy and bring a complete change of clothes, towel and shoes.

Cubs must wear their neckerchief and should bring a packed lunch including a hot drink.

Parents please note there is a €5 change to use the car park in Farran Woods and the machine only accepts coins if you are planning on staying in Farran Woods, otherwise cubs can be dropped outside the car park and escorted in.

Hike to Ballyhouras

Update on Hike on Sunday 13th March 2016

Cubs should wear warm clothes, a rain coat and strong walking shoes or boot as it will be wet and mucky in places.  This is a county organised activity so a neckerchief is required to identify cubs from each group.   A change of top, pants, sock & shoes are also advised as is a small towel.  These can be packed together in a plastic bag in the back pack, but can be left on the bus for the duration of the hike.

Cubs should bring a packed lunch to include sandwich/roll, snack, a hot drink (tea, soup hot chocolate etc.) and any cold drinks should be non-carbonated.  These should be packed in a back pack.  Mobile phones and other electronic devices are generally not advised as they tend to get lost or broken.

The cost is confirmed at €10 per person travelling (cubs and adults) to cover the cost of transportation.

Meeting locations and times are been confirmed by text message.  Any change to the expected arrival time home will be notified by text message on the day.
